About Us
Hi! Welcome to Rog's Guitar School.
My name is Rogan, and I have over 17 years of experience. My experience encompasses both acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, and I have been studying music theory for approximately 10 years.
I have a strong theoretical foundation, and I am able to put my knowledge into practice.
I teach a variety of students, both young and old, and I have experience teaching students with learning disabilities. My lessons are designed to be interactive, fun, and practical. Lessons are tailored to suit your capability and your pace of learning, while still challenging you to progress. I cater to absolutely everyone, from those with zero experience to more advanced players.
So, bring your instrument and let's make some music!
What We Offer
One-on-one lessons are offered for the following:
- Acoustic guitar
- Electric guitar
- Bass guitar
- Ukulele
- Music theory classes
Registration
All students will need to register and complete a sign-up form. The sign-up form will be provided after the first free lesson.
Students younger than 18 will require the signature of the person responsible for the account.
Students of all ages are welcome, however, please note that a parent/guardian MUST accompany any student under the age of 13 for the duration of the lesson.
Scheduling
Upon registration, a dedicated lesson time and day will be discussed and allocated. Lessons will take place on the agreed upon day at the agreed upon time. This time will continue to be allocated to the student in following months/lesson blocks unless otherwise agreed. Any changes to the schedule can only be made per block – your time is allocated for the block/month once registered.
Please refer to the rescheduling policy below regarding missed lessons.
Lesson Structure
Depending on the package you select, lessons may be 30 minutes, or 60 minutes. Lessons are structured to combine both music theory and practical application. You'll be playing your instrument and learning! Time is also allocated for revision to ensure that you understand the concepts and how to apply them before we move on. There will also be dedicated rhythm training sections of key sessions to ensure we build a solid and rounded foundation.
Lessons are sold in 4 lesson blocks: one lesson per week, for 4 weeks. Rhythm classes are booked and paid per lesson, before the commencement of the lesson.
Materials
Barring your instrument and related equipment, all study and lesson materials will be provided by Rog's Guitar School, unless otherwise stipulated. Students will have access to recordings and extra video content at no additional charge. Materials will be in the form of printed media or digital content at the discretion of the teacher. Backing tracks will also be provided as they become relevant.
Fee Structure
Payment
Rog's Guitar School accepts payment via EFT and cash. For EFT payments, banking details will be provided. Invoices will be issued upon receipt of each payment.
Payment for each lesson block (4x lessons) must be paid in advance. Payment reminders will be sent out on the day of your last lesson per block via WhatsApp or email.
Rescheduling, Refund, and Termination Policy
Rescheduling (Effective 2026)
Lessons are booked in 4-lesson blocks, with one lesson per week. Your lesson time is reserved specifically for you.
Students who have paid for a full 4-lesson block are entitled to one missed lesson per block without forfeiting the lesson provided that at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
The missed lesson may be rescheduled to another available time/day at the discretion of the teacher, or credited to the following lesson block if no suitable rescheduling slot is available.
Any additional missed lessons within the same 4-lesson block will be forfeited, regardless of notice given.
Exceptions will be made in cases of illness or genuine emergency, at the discretion of the teacher. Supporting communication is appreciated where possible.
Late Arrivals will not be extended beyond the scheduled end time, and students arriving more than 10 minutes late will have their lesson shortened accordingly. Failure to arrive within a reasonable time may result in the lesson being forfeited due to scheduling overlap with other students.
Should the teacher need to reschedule a lesson, adequate notice will be given to the student, and the lesson will be rescheduled to a different day/time (which may differ from your usual lesson day/time). This will be discussed and confirmed with the student. If there is no availability to reschedule, the lesson will be credited to the following lesson block.
Refunds
No refunds will be given. Lessons are scheduled and it is the responsibility of the student to adhere to the agreed upon lesson plan.
Termination of Registration (Effective 2026)
Should a student choose to terminate their registration with Rog's Guitar School, the following terms apply:
- A minimum of one full lesson block (4 weeks) written notice is required to terminate registration.
- Lessons are booked and scheduled in advance. All pre-paid lessons are non-refundable, including unused and rescheduled lessons.
- If a student provides notice partway through a lesson block, the current block will be completed, and no refunds or credits will be issued for missed or unused lessons.
- If a student chooses to terminate immediately without providing one full lesson block's notice, a termination fee equal to half of one lesson block is immediately payable. This payment serves as the required notice period.
Missed Lessons and Termination (Effective 2026)
- Five consecutive missed lessons, regardless of notice given or reason (excluding prolonged medical or personal emergencies discussed with the teacher), will result in automatic termination of registration.
- Repeated missed lessons beyond the one allowable missed lesson per block may result in a review of the student's registration and lesson allocation.
